The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office won the 2026 USA Today Top Workplaces award for the fifth consecutive year, according to an April 14 announcement from Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. The office was also ranked among the top 100 small employers by USA Today for the first time, placing at number 59 in its category.
The recognition is based on anonymous employee feedback gathered through a confidential survey, which must be completed by at least 35% of employees. The Top Workplaces award honors organizations with more than 150 employees that have built strong, people-focused cultures and value employee engagement.
Ellison said, “This last year has been one of immense challenges, both for Minnesota generally and for the highly dedicated staff of the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. In addition to our normal work of protecting consumers, prosecuting Medicaid fraudsters, serving our clients, and defending state law, our office has been on the front lines of Donald Trump’s relentless attacks on Minnesota. This moment demands a lot from my team, and I am so proud of how my staff is stepping up to defend the people of Minnesota. Working alongside such fine people is truly the honor of a lifetime.”
He added: “I am also proud that the culture of collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity that my team and I have created together is still as strong as ever. After all, what good is a positive work environment that falls apart when that workplace faces a challenge? This award isn’t just good news for my team and I, it’s good for the people of Minnesota. The positive workplace culture we have created helps my office recruit and retain incredibly talented and dedicated people who give their all to helping Minnesotans afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect. When morale is high at the Attorney General’s Office, everybody wins.”
The office has previously received USA Today’s Top Workplaces awards in each year since 2022. It has also earned Star Tribune’s Top Workplace recognition over five years running.
According to information provided by Ellison’s office in Saint Paul,
the organization values diversity and serves as an equal opportunity employer.
